President Bush Sends Peru Trade Agreement to Capitol Hill

Washington (Sept. 27)—Indicating that the United States-Peru Trade Promotion Agreement was in our “national interest,” President George W. Bush sent legislation to Congress to implement the agreement. In his message to Congress he wrote, “The Agreement provides the opportunity to strengthen our economic and political ties with the Andean region, and underpins U.S. support for democracy and freedom while contributing to further hemispheric integration.” (More)
