Secretary Gutierrez Praises Senate Passage of the U.S-Peru Trade Promotion Agreement

Washington (Dec. 4)—Commerce Secretary Carlos M. Gutierrez issued the following statement applauding the U.S. Senate passage of the U.S.-Peru Trade Promotion Agreement. “I commend Chairman Baucus, Senator Grassley and the U.S. Senate for its overwhelming support of the U.S.-Peru Trade Promotion Agreement. With this final vote, Congress will boost both nations’ economies and remove barriers for U.S. exports to that market.” The Secretary led a bipartisan Congressional delegation to Peru in September and is pictured with Peruvian President Garcia and members of the delegation.
